Hélène de Montgeroult – 1rst piano concerto (finale)

This is an in-depth reworking of Viotti’s sixth (first and second movements) and fourth (final) violin concertos. The key has been changed, the solo part has been largely reworked in a very pianistic sense and the orchestration has been quite simplified. Hélène de Montgeroult made this arrangement at the age of 21 and published it soon after (1786), but without giving her name, which will only appear in the second edition. This concerto reveals a much more classical style than what she would later develop.

Éditions Modulation will soon publish the conductor and material for this concerto.
